VmWare Migration Specialist
Note: Must be authorised and willing to work on W2. Can't do C2C or Corp to Corp or 1099.
Location: open to full remote.
Must have:
Atleast 3 years of experience in virtualization. Familiarity with major hypervisor platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, KVM, etc.) and enterprise storage systems.
Basic scripting skills in one or more languages (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
Experience with automation tools or orchestration platforms.
Role:
Will support the enterprise-wide virtual machine (VM) migration initiatives.
Will be responsible for planning, executing, and validating VM migrations across enterprise infrastructure.
Perform virtual machine migrations across diverse environments, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
Develop and maintain migration documentation, including runbooks, validation checklists, and rollback procedures.
Utilize scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python) to automate repetitive tasks and streamline migration workflows.
Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues during and after migrations .
Ensure all migration activities comply with established change management procedures.
Participate in post-migration reviews and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
