This is a DBA on the application side of the FBSI modernization project. Will be working on Oracle DBs running our brokerage and trading platforms. Highest importance DBs. Must haves Oracle DBA experience working on the application tuning side (not a sysDBA) Applications performance tuning, (SQL tuning, partitioning strategies) AWS Goldengate replication experience Nice to haves: cockroach DB, Postgres, MySQL Dataguard

*** there are also production support on-call responsibilities. Support installs and releases. Expectation is to be willing to work after hours, not scheduled but it does occur. Position is approved for 45 hours per week so OT is no problem.***

The Team
The Client's Institutional Technology, Database Center of Excellence (COE), requires a highly proficient and highly motivated Senior Database Administrator with deep technical skills to support critically important database platforms. This position would provide an excellent opportunity to work on leading database technologies like Oracle, Postgres, NoSQL, Snowflake etc. It is a phenomenal place to experience and learn end to end DBA service capabilities!

The Experience You Bring

• 7+ experience in Oracle Database Administration / Performance Engineering / Replication Engineering across multiple platforms - Linux and Engineered systems.
• 1+ experience in DB performance for other database platforms (Postgres, Snowflake, Cassandra, MS SQL server, Netezza etc)
• Experience in Distributed replication technologies (Oracle GoldenGate, EDB Replication, etc), preferred
• Experience with cloud databases platforms (AWS/Azure/Oracle OCI certification is helpful), on both Linux and Windows environments
• Domain specialist in Oracle internals, Optimizer, Statistics management, Partition management, Physical implementation & Workload management for highly scalable and resilient database platforms.
• Sophisticated skills in Query Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid control (OEM 12c), Linux shell scripting, and writing database supervising jobs in PL/SQL.
• Strong Linux shell scripting experience preferred with a good understanding of Linux Performance
• A good understanding of Oracle RAC related performance challenges
• Ability to work well in a team environment, as well as maintaining a positive demeanor are a must
• Ability to develop and drive database performance standards, standard methodologies and initiatives. AWS cloud experience desired.

• Perform applications database administration (Oracle/Postgres) services including SQL code review, performance analysis, query tuning, database application design, physical data modeling, development support & Engineering.
• Proactively supervise databases servers and respond to any alerts
• Provide database support in all phases of SDLC and agile experience is helpful
• Participate in 24X7 on call rotation schedule for various production support, database maintenance, housekeeping and installs
• Work with enterprise teams for Systems Administrators, Cyber Security and Capacity Planning groups as and when situation demands
• Should have strong time management with ability to prioritize multiple projects/initiatives at the same time
• Establish database standards for operations, upgrades, migrations and onboarding new applications and/or clients
• Write clear, concise, well organized documentation to maintain standards and procedures
